The 3rd Year Acting Company at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona (IAB) are starting a new production of the play 13 by Mike Bartlett. The production will be directed by Rob Watt and will be premiered at the IAB between the week of the 3rd and the 8th of December 2018.

THE PLAY

An identical, terrifying dream haunts Londoners in the midst of economic gloom and ineffective protest. Whilst the Prime Minister considers a preventive war, a young man returns home with a vision for the future. Coincidences, omens and visions collide with political reality in this epic new play from the writer of Earthquakes in London. Set in a dark and magical landscape, it depicts a London both familiar and strange, a London staring into the void. In a year which has seen governments fall as the people take to the streets, 13 explores the meaning of personal responsibility, the hold that the past has over the future and the nature of belief itself.

MARk

In this production, I will be playing the role of Mark. Being one of the 13 main characters, Mark is a successful lawyer from London who is hunted by a traumatic dream that will have a major impact on his work and personal life. He will go through an emotional journey that will make him deal with his traumatic past which will impact his relationships with other characters of the play.

LIAm

Alongside the role of Mark, I will also be playing the role of Liam. He is one of the three political advisers of the British Prime Minister and helps her with the difficulties and responsibilities of her job.

“Work out what you want and go for it with all your conviction and don't care if you seem outrageous or stupid. . . All that's needed, in the end, is belief.”
